Frequently Asked Questions
- Is it safe to merge PDFs on PDFArc?
- Yes. PDFArc processes all files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your PDFs are never uploaded to any server — they stay on your device throughout the entire process.
- How many PDFs can I merge at once?
- There is no hard limit on the number of files. However, very large files (hundreds of megabytes combined) may be limited by your browser's available memory. For most documents, merging 10-20 files at once works without issues.
- Will the merged PDF keep bookmarks and links?
- Page content, annotations, and form fields are preserved. However, document-level bookmarks (outlines) from the source files are not carried over to the merged output.
- Can I reorder the PDFs before merging?
- Yes. After adding your files, use the arrow buttons next to each file to move it up or down in the list. The final merged PDF will follow the order you set.
